The next couple of days are much the same, I search for missing files, go out for dinner with Callahan, and have mind-blowing orgasms then fall into a coma.

On Wednesday morning I stand in front of the fitting room sized mirror in Callahan’s closet and assess the black Chanel pants suit that I’ve made my ninth outfit of the morning. Nothing fits right and I’m at my wits end. The female body is a tricky bitch, one minute you look like Giselle and the next you look a busted can of biscuits. Why? I sigh and pray to the Chanel gods that the top button doesn’t pop off these pants and crack the mirror from the massive exhale.

“Are you having an identity crisis?” Callahan says from the doorway holding up a rainbow colored jean jacket that was sitting on top of the discarded clothes. Yes I put the clothes that didn’t fit in a pile on the floor, they’re in timeout. He, of course, looks delicious in a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His tattooed forearms on display, the white of his shirt making them stand out.

“No.” I say, marching over to him to put the jacket back in the bad pile. “It didn’t fit right.” I drop the jacket.

“I don’t think it would fit anyone right other than maybe a 5 year old. Are you going to see Jojo Siwa today? Do you need a bow?” He teases.

“No.” I stomp my foot. Acting every bit the 5 year old with a tantrum he just insinuated I was.

“You look great. You could wear a paper bag and you’d still look amazing.” He says pulling me into a hug I didn’t know I needed.

“Easy for you to say, you only have to decide which suit you’re going to wear today.” I say into his chest.

“Not true, I also have to choose a belt, shoes, tie, shirt. It’s a lot of work to look this good baby girl.” He chuckles lightly.

We pull apart slowly and he hands me my phone.

“It’s been going off all morning. Tellisa must really need something.” He says as he backs out of the closet. I laugh and press the call log. Eighteen missed calls from Tellisa. I press her name and wait for the ringing. I put the phone on speaker and set it on top of the dresser as I inspect the outfit again.
